About us

Van Zyl Hertenberger Inc. was founded on the 1st March 2011 in Johannesburg, South Africa, by directors Sanet Van Zyl and Renate Hertenberger who met when they worked together as co-directors at law firm Schwarz North Inc.

The newly established law practice opened its doors on the 1st of March 2011 in Visiomed Office Park, both partners bringing with them their client base and support staff, making the move a seamless transition.

In 2019 Niki joined the firm and a second branch of the firm was opened in Cape Town, bringing a new dimension to the services offered and our geographical footprint, thus expanding the practice’s exposure even further.

The association with Henderson Attorneys, though long since in existence, became official in 2020, expanding the firm’s offering to include Labour Law expertise.

The distinctive mark of the firm is the longstanding association with the German Law firm Dr Koch Dorobek & Kollegen based in Nuremberg and Wiesbaden in Germany. This collaboration allows them to work across borders in matters concerning both the South African and German legal systems, by competent and up to date expertise of attorneys practicing and trained in their respective countries.
